Meriç Aziz Berge was born in İzmir, Turkey, in 1980. He received the B.Sc., M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in geophysical engineering from the University of Dokuz Eylül, Turkey, in 2002, 2005, and 2011, respectively. In 2003, he joined the Department of Geophysical Engineering, University of Dokuz Eylül, as a researcher, and in 2017 became an Associate Professor. His current research interests include archaeological prospection and near surface geophysics especially electrical resistivity tomography, magnetics and ground penetrating radar methods. He has published various papers on those topics. Dr. Berge is a member of the International Society for Archaeological Prospection (ISAP) and European Association of Geoscientists and Engineers (EAGE).
