Roman Pašteka received a Ph.D. in applied geophysics (1996) from the Comenius University (Bratislava) and since that year he has been working there as a university lecturer at the Department of Applied and Environmental Geophysics. In present is active as the head of the department. Since 2000 he works also as a senior geophysicist for the private company G-trend Ltd. and since 2003 he is also an external lecturer at the Institute of Meteorology and Geophysics, Vienna University (Austria). In years 2009-2010 he was working as a visiting professor at the Christian-Albrechts University in Kiel (Germany).His professional work is focused on the methodology of potential-field data (gravimetry, magnetometry) processing and interpretation. Still 2011 he is an associate editor (gravimetry) of the journal Geophysical Prospecting. He is a member of EAGE, EGU and SEG.
