BIO
Marion Scheiblecker holds bachelor’s degree in Archaeological Sciences and master’s degree in Near Eastern Archaeology. At the present, she is doctoral student at the Ludwig Maximilians University Munich, combining Near Eastern Archaeology and Geophysics for most effective results on both sides. Her doctoral thesis are dealing with geophysical prospection in Iraqi Kurdistan and include analysis to spatial use in rural settlements and urban catchment areas of ancient Near Eastern settlement systems (supervisors Dr. Simone Mühl, Prof. Dr. Jörg Faßbinder).
Moreover, she is Lecturer at Ludwig Maximilians University Munich for Geophysical Prospection in Archaeology and Archaeological Prospection since 2017.
She gained experience in Archaeological Geophysics (Magnetometry, Geoelectrics, ERT) since 2014 during fieldwork projects (participation as well as direction) in Europe (Germany, Austria, Italy, Romania), Northern Africa (Sudan, Tunisia) and especially focused on the Near East (Azerbaijan, Georgia, Iraq, Iraqi Kurdistan, Lebanon, Oman).
